Disturbances of consciousness
· In various psychological conditions there are changes in the level of consciousness of sufferers, either as a result of internal psychological processes or due to physiological aspects of their condition. Disorientation: orientation in time, lugar, or person is disturbed Clouding of consciousness: incomplete clarity of mind with disturbances in perception and attitudes Stupor: lack of reaction to and unawareness of surroundings Delirium: confused, bewildered, restless, disoriented reaction associated with fear and hallucinations Coma: profound degree of unconsciousness Coma vigil: coma in which the patient appears to he asleep but ready to be aroused Twilight state: disturbed consciousness with hallucinations Dreamlike state: often used as a synonym for complex partial seizure or psychomotor epilepsy Somnolence: abnormal drowsiness
